FACILITIES: Calvert Cliffs, Units 1 and 2 San Onofre, Units 2 and 3

SUBJECT:

SUMMARY

OF MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 19, 1992, WITH GENERIC LETTER 92-03 VOLUNTEER PARTICIPANTS TO DISCUSS DOCUMENT RETRIEVAL SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRAMS On November 19, 1992, the staff met with the licensees for Calvert Cliffs and San Onofre to discuss the NRR audit of the document retrieval programs under development. A list of attendees is provided as Enclosure 1.

On March 19, 1992, the NRC issued Generic Letter 92-03 on the subject

" Compilation of the Current Licensing Basis: Pequest for Voluntary Participation in Pilot Program." The generic letter invited licensees to volunteer to compile their current licensing basis (CLB). The NRC would conduct audits of the program to determine the usefulness of compiled CLB. No i.censee volunteered to compile the CLB; Calvert Cliffs and San Onofre did volunteer to demonstrate the document retrieval programs under development.

The NRC has an interest in understanding the licensees' processes for retrieval of the CLB and has decided to accept the Calvert Cliffs and San ,

Onofre volunteer offers.

The audit program will be conducted alternately at each of the sites by all three parties (the NRC and each licensee), with the first audit in January 1993 at San Onofre. Portions of the meetings will be open to the public and announced. The NRR team leader and participants will be' identified before the January 1993 audit at San Onofre.

Southern California Edison (SCE) presented information on their system; the presentation was made from the viewgraphs in Enclosure 2. SCE will also consider putting their system on a local area network to facilitate use.
