OFGMIZATION A.

Cmnanding Officer: The Carrrarding Officer, USS DIXIE (AD-14), is the 5

licensee for this activity. The Cararding Officer has overall re-M sponsibility for matters concerning the licensed radioisotopes.

Padiographic Safety Officer: The Padiographic Safety Officer shall be desigrated in writing by the Comarding Officer of the USS DIXIE (AD-14).

The Radiographic Safety,0fficer shall be a graduate of the Padiographic Safety Officer cours~e A-7K-0017 conducted by the Non-Destructive Test-y-

ing School, NAVSTA, San Diego, CA or course A-40-0016 conducted by the 1-Naval Nuclear Power Unit, Port Hueneme, CA.

The Radiographic Safety A

Officer shall be responsible for directly supervising the Senior Bad-lographer in the performance of his duties under this quality assur-ance procedure.

Ser.ior Radiogra@er: The Senior Radiogra@ er shall be a qualified radiographer desigrated by the Padiographic Salety Officer as such.

The Senior Padiographer will be a graduate of the Padiograph Operator Course A-701-0032. The Senior Radiographer shall be responsible for controlling ard directly supervising Padiographic operations conducted '

by USS DIXIE (AD-14). The Senior Padiographer is directly responsible to the Padiographic Safety Officer for coordinationof all receipts, handling, tests and inspections, and transfers of radioactive material and all records of tests / inspections conducted IIM this procedure and NRC License #08-00038-43.

3. 'All radioactive material shipping containers used by USS DIXIE shall be designed and manufactured under.a Nuclear Regulatory Comission approved QA program. The Senior Radiograpiber shall be respansible for verification of package acceptability.

Inspection, test an,d operating status of packages for certain special form radioactive material will be indicated and controlled by written procedures. Status will be indicated by log entry. Status of non-

Radiography personnel shall perform the regulatory required inspec-tions and tests in accordance with written procedures.

2.

A sunmary of the qualification of the Senior Radiographer.

A list of all equignent utilized in the shipent of a radioactive materials shipping container.

4.

Copies of all audit reports and any correspondence dealing with the audit of this quality assurance program.

Places.where..the above records are to be maintained:

1.

The records of the Senior Radiographer and the Radiographic Safety Officer shall be maintained on board the USS DIXIE (AD-14).in the Mr Iab, compartment B-0207-EL.

2.
