Theu rates are to be used as the basis for computing the maximum performance awards that may be pMd SES members under $ U.S.C. 5384. Effective January 12,1992, level I of the Executive -
Schedule willincrease to $ 143,800. That is the maximum amou nt that may be paid under 5 U.S.C.
5383(b) to any SES member during calendar year 1992 as the total of basic pay, performance award, and Presidential rank award.
Effective. January 12, 1992, the maximum amount of basi _ insurance under the Fec'eral Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) program is $132,000.
An SES member's rate of basic pay may not be adjusted more than once during any 12-month-period (5 U.S.C 5383). An increase in the payable rates for members of the SES is not considered a pay adjustment. It should be noted, however, that an initial appointment to the SES is considered a pay adjustment; thus, the ES rate of a new SES member (e.g., from ES-1 to ES-2) may not be changed sooner than 12 months after the date of initial appointment to the SES.
The date of approval of this schedule is December 26,1991, and the effective date isJanuary 12,
