Personnel Airlock Outer Door Scal Test The seul rings for the outer door to Personnel Airlock No. 7 failed a leakage test.

lhe leak test was cnnducted following the closure of the door after personnel entry into the airlock (re:

PfiO-TMI-80-13),

The seals are of similar design to a Reactor vessel to Vessel liead 0-Ring Seal Arrangernent comprising of an inner and outer seal, The test pressure source ir, applied between the two seals indicating that one or both of the seals are not providing a good pating surf ace with the door, The seals were replaced and retested.

The licensee is adju',t ing the planar arrangeliit.nt of the duur to it;iprove the seal surface contact of the door to seals.

A successful test of the personnel airlock door seal was act.fliplislied at approxir6P.tely 3 0.

Media interest is expected.

A press release is not planned by Med-Fd or the MRC.

The Corrmonwealth ut Pennsylvania has been notitied.

The HRC/TMI Technical support staff was notified at 6:00 P.M., March 13,1980, by the licensee and is continuing to follow the operation.
