(a) Packaging (1) Model No.: Model B (2) Description A fuel assembly shipping container consisting of a steel strong-backa clamping assembly, shock mounted to a steel outer container.
Two, 3/16-inch thick, 8-5/8 inches high and full length stainless steel plates containing 1.5% minimum boron are positioned between adjacent fuel assemblies. The outer container is approximately i
40-inches in diameter by 200-inches long.

(b) Contents (1) Type and form of material U0i sintered pellet diameter 0.30 inch to 0.60 inch.
Uranium may be enriched to a maximum 4.05 w/o in the U-235 isotope. The pellets are clad in minimum 0.020-inch thickness zircalloy or minimum 0.016-inch thickness stainless steel rods. The rods are assembled into fuel assemblies with a maximum cross section of 8.6-inch by 8.6-inches. The void volume within the fuel assembly in the shall not exceed two (2) times the volume of U02 fuel assembly.
(2) Maximum quantity of material per package Two (2) fuel assemblies containing not more than 18.8 kg U-235 per assembly.
(c) Fissile Class III Maximum number of packages per shipment Twenty (20) 6.
Each fuel assembly shall be unsheathed or shall be enclosed in an unsealed, polyethylene sheath which will not extend beyond the ends of the fuel assembly. The ends of the sheath shall not be folded or taped in any manner that would prevent the flow of liquids into or out of the sheathed fuel assembly.

The package authorized by this certificate is hereby approved for use under the general license provisions of 10 CFR 571.12(b).
