The unclassified scope of Sork under this contract entitled, "Quantification Classification of Two Phase Flow Regimes using Global and Local Neutronic Perturbations" is as follows:
1.
Perform a feasibility study to determine if the neutronic perturbation technique can be applied for flow measurements in the subcritical LOFT core (after shutdown). If so, list the range of applicability and limitations.
2.
Perform scoping study to determine a way to simulate LOFT condition in the University of Washington nuclear reactor (UWNR).
The study shall include the formul_ation of scaling logic and the design of simulation tests.
3.
Perform simulation tests at UWNR to develop the technique for application to LOFT.
4.
Provide consulation services to LOFT /EG&G personnel (test group) in developing a meaningful measuring technique for LOFT in core flow measurements, including both global 'and local time-dependent measure-ments.
5.
Provide calibration s'ervices for LOFT instrumentation in UWNR.
6.
Upgrade and refine the method according to experience gained when comparing UWNR data (model) with the LOFT data (real system).
