SUBJECT:
BOM3 TRRTAT On february 18, 1980, at approxima tely 10: 30 a.m., a Northern States Power Company switchboard upcrator received a telephone call f rom what wac described as a
" young ferr.nic voice" that expl ained that one bomb was planted in the tiinneapolis Corporate Of fice, and one was pInnted at Pcairie island and would go of f at 11 : 30 a.:n.
'rhe licedsee conducted a nearch of the plant and nothing was found.
No explosio:: occu rre d.
The licensee's managemcot determined t hat the call was a hoax and no plant evacuation was ordered.
The NRC Resident inspector nonitored the plant search and notified SKC HQ Duty Of ficer at. 11:18 a.r.
(CDST).
The Minneapolis F}t i Of fice was notified on 2/18/80 by RIII.
Neither the licensee nor RITT olan to make a Press release.
The State of P.innesota will be not i fied.
Unit I van operating and Unit 2 was in start op after refueling.
These operations were not suspended during the search.
