Dear Mr. Denton:

Referenced (a) provided a draft SER, NUREG 1002, for our Braidwood Station and requested written response to the unresolved

' issues.

Reference (u) supplied that response and included a training program for the Radiation Protection Manager.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you and your staff of the current status of that training to assist in closing SER Confirmatory Issues Part A Item No. 8.

The attachment to this letter shows the detailed status of RPM Training.

It reveals that Mr. Keith has completed all of the training assignments except for attending the first refueling at Byron Unit 1 which is scheduled to occur 18 months from now.

Please address any questions that you or your staff may have concerning this matter to this office.

F STATUS OF RPM COMMITMENTS Timothy O. Keith Station = Health Physicist-Braidwood Station

. ASSIGNMENT:-

Six weeks at Zion Station during the current refueling outage.

STATUS:

Completed between August 29 and October 9, 1983.

ASSIGNMENT:

Byron Station start-up.

-STATUS:

10% start-up testing.. Completed February, 1985~

50% start-up testing.

Completed April, 1985 (Time spent:

Also intend to monitor 100% start-up tests as schedule permits.

ASSIGNMENT:

Byron Station during first refueling.

STATUS:

Byron refueling scheduled for December 1986.

The current schedule calls for Braidwood fuel load in April 1986.

In this event the meeting between-Byron and Braidwood health physicist personnel will be held to discuss both the positive and negative health physicist _ aspects of the Byron Station refueling outage.

ASSIGNMENT:

Six days Introduction to Power Plant Operations.

STATUS:

Attended Zion IPPO May, 1983 (6 day course).

Attended PWR Indoctrination at Braidwood May, 1984 (two-week course).
