I am writing to comment on the decision of the Nuclear Regulatory staff's decision not to oppose the request of Pacific Gas & Electric for a nine month re-prieve for completing the geological survey relevant to the seismic safety of the Humboldt Bay Nuclear Plant.

In my opinion, this decision was a mistake and should be over-ruled.

The wealth of seismic informa-tion available does not justify continued dealay 'in bringing this matter to the hearing stage and hopefully some resolution.

It is most regrettable that the NRC was unable to complete its scheduled on-site inspection, Sincerely, c
