RIVER BEND STATION, UNIT 1 - SUPPLEMENTAL SAFETY EVALUATION REGARDING CONFORMANCE TO REGULATORY GUIDE 1.97, REVISION 3 (TAC NO.
M83191)
Region IV conducted a Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.97 inspection, as reported by a lett;r dated July 30, 1990.
By letters dated August 30, 1990, October 11, 1990, and March 28, 1991, you requested the NRC staff to reevaluate the issues raised in the Region IV July 30, 1991 letter concerning the instrumentation that monitors drywell hydrogen concentration and suppression pool water level.
The staff has completed the requested review.
Based on our review of your submittals, we find that the River Bend Station Unit No. I design for drywell hydrogen concentration and suppression pool water level is acceptable with respect to conformance to RG 1.97, Revision 3.
A copy of the Supplementary Safety Evaluation is enclosed. This completes the staff's activities on TAC No. M83191.
