20555 Gentlemen:
GENERIC LETTER 89-13 IMPLEMENTATION HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-354 Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) responded to Generic Letter (GL) 89-13 on January 26, 1990.
That letter satisfied the first of two required responses by documenting PSE&G's position on the GL recommendations, and providing implementation schedules for each of our nuclear units.
Hope Creek has satisfactorily completed all initial heat exchanger performance testing activities.
The associated heat E
exchanger performance monitoring procedure was also upgraded.
l Recurring tasks have been established for biofouling_ inspection l
and cleaning.
Continuing programs are in-place for heat exchanger performance testing and Service Water erosion-corrosion monitoring.
The Hope Creek Service Water System Configuration Baseline has been issued.
Our training programs were reviewed and Abnormal Operating Procedures have been revised as necessary.
l Additionally, the majority of Service Water carbon steel piping l
and valves have been replaced with 6% molybdenum stainless. steel, as part of our Service Water Upgrade Project.
This letter satisfies the second GL 89-13 response requirement.
PSE&G considers this item complete.
Should you have any questions on this transmittal, please contact us.
Sincerely, l
l l
