Grand Gulf Nuclear Station File 0260/0498/L-S60/15521 Interim Report No. 2 for Potentially Reportable Deficiency (PRD) 79-13 as Defined in 10 CFR 50.55(c)
AECM-79/141 On September 4, 1979, MP&L contacted Mr. V. L. Brownlee of your office regarding a potentially reportable deficiency at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station construction site.
The deficiency concerns h'1111am Powell supplied valves which may not meet the seismic requircaents of the original purchase order. Vendor re-analysis of valve natural fre-quencies is ongoing and is presently scheduled for completion by February, 1980. Upon receipt of the new natural frequencies, resulting from Powell's re-analysis, the affected piping systems will be analy:cd for effect and any corrections will be made as required. We should be able to determine reportability of this deficiency as defined by 10 CFR 50.55(e) and make a final report by April 4,19S0.
