SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE OPERATION:
The plant began the month in cold shutdown and ended the month at power operation.
l The ASLB had rescinded its permission for interim operation while the Control Building seismic redesign was in progress. The hearing was conducted to ascertain the progress made towards resolving the issue.
Approval was received from the ASLB on 12-29-79 and from the NRC on 12-31-79 to permit operation.
The plant reattained power operation on 12-31-79.
MAJOR SAFETY-RELATED MAINTENANCE:
Work continued on improvement modifications to the Plant Security and Fire Protection Systems.
Work continued on the program of inspection and upgrading of pipe hangers and restraints for seismic loadings. Work continued with the survey and upgrading of masonry block wall seismic hangers.
Work was completed on the repair of the CCP recirculation line which was found to have cracks.
Work was completed on the Containment Isolation Valve System to prevent the automatic reopening of selected CIS valves when CIS signal is reset.
LICENSE CHANGES:
Amendment #42, LCR-79-03, LCA-55; Correction to November's license change on administrative organization, to correct typographical error on p. 6-14 and position title error on p. 6-9, paragraph 6.5.2.2.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Work completed on the subcooling monitor meter.
Work completed on the pressurizer safety valve acoustic flow sensors.
