i JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS DECEMBER, 1979 During the month there were ten major power reductions, one unit shutdown (continued from November), and one adminis-trative removal of the generator from the grid.

On December 1, the unit was returned to service after a recovery from a trip experienced on November 30, 1979.

Power levels were restricted for the next several days to perform maintenance on the S.G. Feed Pumps.

On December 8 and again on December 15-16, power was reduced to allow performance of tests required by the Cycle 2 Startup Physics Test Program and tests required to properly adjust the turbine valve management program.

The major safety-related maintenance performed in December was the completion of the repair of the 1C Charging Pump.
