50-344). We are requesting that you act immediately in the intqrost of public health and safety to resolve this issue.

Wo became aware of the issue when an internal NRC Staff document, Memorandum for Frank P. G111espio, Director, Porgram Management, Policy Development, and Analysis Branch, Off4co of Nuclear Reactor Regulation from C.J. Holtomos, Jr./ Deputy Director, Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, September 28, 1992, Was nado public on November 23, 1992.

We z$ro also aware that on November 21th Mr. Gillespie issued a MQmorandum for Mr. Holtomos stating, "Our review of the prijritizationanalysishasidentifiedsLveral aspects of the analysis that are incorrect und do not accurately rot oct operating experionce or current licensing pos tions."
