This refers to the inspection conducted by Ms. N. J. Miegel of this office on February 25-26, 1985, of your facility at Houston, Texas, and to the discussions ,
of our findings with Stephen Bowman and members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The purpose of this inspection was to determine how Stewart & Stevenson Services, Inc. (S&S) notifies customers of pertinent design modifications, maintenance instructions, and changes to general operating procedures, and to obtain a customer list to verify that customers receive the information from S&S and properly implement the recommended action. Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in the enclosed report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of an examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, we found no instance where you failed to meet NRC requirements.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
