I have instructed Chevron's contractor, NES/IES to express mail to your attention a copy of the i

Health and Safety Plan and the Work Plan for the remediation of the soillocated at the National Park Service property near Pawling, New York. These plans are being provided for your information and review at your request. Copies of these plans were mailed to the National Park Service ("NPS") and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission ("NRC") for their review and approval on December 1,1992. Please let me know if you have not received these plans by Friday, l

i As we discussed, Chevron and the National Park Service plan to enter into a Cooperative Agreement to remediate this site. Further, it is Chevron's intention to expedite the removal and disposal of radioactive contaminated soil from this site to Chem-Nuclear's Barnwell, South Carolina disposal facility prior to December 31,1992.

A Work Plan for the remaining site decommissioning activities including the Survey Plan which describes the final release survey procedures for the buildings and soil areas will be generated prior to the initiation of these subsequent activities. I will provide you with a copy of these and other significant documents as they become available to ensure you remain informed regarding the radiological decontamination activities at this site.
