DRAFT OF FINAL REPORT - BNL STUDIES ON RESPONSE COMBINATION METHODOLOGIES The Structural Analysis Group of Brochaven National Laboratory was given a technical assistance contract for Fr 79 by the Mechanical Engineering Branch, Division of Systems Safety to carry out the following:
1.
A generic study of the methods and criteria needed for appropriate combinations of dynamic responses in piping components, including the investigations of the SRSS method.
2.
A study of the validity, adequacy, limitations and applicability of the two criteria for dynamic response combinations proposed by the Mark II Owner's Group; the so-called " Kennedy-Newmark Criteria".
The study has just been completed.
A draft copy of the final report is enclosed.
If you have any comments on the draft report that you believe should be incorporated in the final document, they are requested before Nov.15,1979.
