Dear Mr. Hendrie:
My family and I are very much concerned about the method of dispesal of the remaining waste products at Three Mile Island. We understand that the contaminated water is to be treated with tritium during the so-caned "Epicer II" process and then discharged into the Susque-hanna River. We also understano that this same contanin-ated water can be evaporated slauly into the air, taking two years or so to condense. Why then, is there any decision? It seems to be very clear that the only sol-ution is to evaporate the water ever a longer period of time. Please understand that the dusqueharma River is an important'part of the peoples lives in and around this j
concunity.
I Let me say that I grew up along side the Susquehanna.
My fathers fem borders the river and my family spent many a years swiming, boating and just plain enjoying the waterway.. It is se terribly Penited already. Why must we keep on polluting, destroying the natural habitat 9 and in general just plain not caring. hhat about tiie dri.nking water? The fish? Do you ready care?
I beg of you to help centrol this problem with a sensitive mind. Please show us that you really do care about us, and our river.
We feel se terribly helpless.
