Cancellation of Call with Seabrook on Steam Generator Tube Inspections (EPID L-2020-LRO-0011)

Friday, May 01, 2020 3:18:00 PM Ken/Christine, By email dated March 27, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20087K826), the NRC staff in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) notified Seabrook Station, Unit No. 1 (Seabrook), that it intended to have a teleconference to discuss the ongoing results of the steam generator tube inspections that were being performed by Seabrook during its Spring refueling outage. In this email, the NRR staff had provided a list of discussion points to facilitate the conference call.
Unfortunately due to exigent amendment requests that were submitted by other U.S.
nuclear plants, the NRR staff prioritized that work and canceled the call we originally planned to have with Seabrook. Having said that, we recognize that regional inspectors were performing their inspections of your steam generator tube inspection activities and many of the discussion points that were provided in the March 27, 2020, email were brought up. The NRR staff also recognizes that Seabrook is required to submit its steam generator tube inspection report in accordance with its technical specifications following the outage. As with all steam generator tube inspection reports submitted to the NRC, the NRR staff will perform a review of the report to ensure that Seabrook has provided the information required by its technical specifications and whether any follow-up action is required by NRC staff. This email closes out EPID L-2020-LRO-0011.
