I am a resident of New Mexico with no affiliation with Holtec. Instead, I'm a high school science teacher with a master's degree in Earth and environmental science. Now, more than ever, we need to turn to nuclear energy as a means to satisfy our ever increasing energy needs without producing CO2. Nuclear energy, while not perfect, has come a long way in terms of safety and waste reduction. Furthermore, New Mexico, especially in light of current economic circumstances, needs the revenue that this facility would provide.
