NRC ACQUIRED IMMUNE DEFICIENCY SYNDROME RESOURCE INFORMATION GUIDE The following RESOURCE GUIDE lists a variety of organizations which provide guidance, counseling, and health services related to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

The Guide is separated by the Washington Metropolitan area and each Region.

The Guide certainly is not exhaustive.

Individuals should check additional sources of guidance in their local area.

The types and terms of service these external groups provide are presented as reported by the individual organization and have not been independently verified by NRC.

In particular, most programs offering AIDS assistance have been found to use the following definition of " anonymous" and

" confidential":

  • Anonymous. Clients use code numbers or aliases rather than their real names to obtain test results and other assistance.

The names of the clients are not solicited, nor do they appear on any records.

  • Confidential. The clients' names and identifying information are requested by the helping facilities, but information about the clients' use of the services and their test results may not be released without their specific written consent.

If you have any questions about this resource guide or would like to receive additional AIDS literature, call the Office of Personnel, Employee Assistance Program Coordinator at FTS 8-492-4639.
