September 3, 1996 PY-CEI/OEPA-0253L Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Attention: Marie Underwood Division of Surface Water Northeast District Office 2110 E. Aurora Road Twinsburg, Ohio 44087 Ladies and Gentlemen:
This letter is to provide information requested by you during a telephone conversation with Donna Tizzano on July 30, 1996.
During October and November, we plan to use raw Lake Erie water to perform hydrostatic testing on three llengths of newly installed service water piping. The water will be pumped from the emergency service water forebay to three new pipe installations. Once the tests are complete, the water will be drained back to Lake Erie via storm drains. This water will not be treated with any chemicals. The pipes to be pressure tested are clean and oil free. gives details on each location to be tested. Attachment 2 shows the locations of the catch basins.
i l
As with any test, results may indicate a need for additional or repeat testing. You will be notified if this situation should occur.
Pleasa provide a letter of concurrence at your earliest convenience.
If you have questions or require additional information please contact me at 216-280-5514.
Very truly yours, i
