50-328 SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT (SON) - UNITS 1 AND 2 - SUBMITTAL OF FIRE PROTECTION REPORT Enclosed is the Fire Protection Report that contains the Fire Protection Program for SON. This program is submitted in accordance with Generic Letter (GL) 8G-10. As requested by GL 86-10, SON's Fire Protection Program has been incorporated into the Final Safety Analysis Report via reference. The enclosed report contains the current design and licensing basis of SON's Fire Protection Program and supersedes previously docketed submittals on the subjects contained within this report. In accordance with GL 88-12, a technical specification change will be submitted to remove fire protection requirements from SON's technical specifications.
Note that the Fire Protection Program at SON has outstanding issues (e.g., Thermo-Lag, penetration seals, pyrocrete, fire dampers, re-baseline of existing deviations / evaluations, etc.) that are being addressed.
