Docket No. 50-461 Mr. Harold R. Denton,' Director Office of Nuclear Regulatory Commission U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C. 20555
Subject:
Clinton Unit I Construction Schedule Update
Dear Mr. Denton:
The USNRC letter dated May 29, 1981, from H. R. Denton to W. J. Kelley requested Illinois Power Company provide a quarterly update concerning the Clinton I construction schedule.
The critical path schedule analysis shows that the limiting system echedule, Area and Process Radiation Monitoring System, is about fifty-three days behind.
The impact of this delay is being addressed through partial system turnovers to allow concurrent construction and testing.
The critical path analysis is performed each month to identify problem areas sufficiently in advance so that timely corrective actions can be taken.
The' scheduled date for Fuel Load continues to be January 3, 1986.
The Reactor Cold Hydrostatic Pressure Test was successfully completed on February 9, 1985, within two weeks of the target date established in 1983.
Currently, the highest construction priority is the achievement of the start of Reactor Plant Hot Operations.
The projected date for this important milestone is June 28, 1985.
We will continue to submit quarterly updates of the Unit I construction schedule.
