Dear Dr. Thomas:

On behalf of the Georgia Institute of Technology, I hereby apply to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for permission to nove the AGN 201, License

  1. R-111 from the Emerson Building at Georgia Tech to within the fenced area

-of the Neely Nuclear Research Center. The fenced area is a controlled access zone. Additionally, the AGN will be covered with a plastic cover.

You my recall that the AGN has been defueled and an application for its decommissioning is now being reviewed by the NRC. The room where the AGN is now located is needed for a new mass spectrometer which is scheduled to be delivered in July, 1985. The room, however, needs to be altered and appropriately wired before delivery of the mass spectrometer. Consequently, there is an urgency to this request. Rest assured, however, that I will not move the AGN 201 without the NRC's permission.

Thank you for your help and cooperation.

Sincerely yours,

. & G- _ _
