Exercise Report for the January 16, 1985, Exercise of Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Plans for the River Bend Nuclear Generating Station Attached are two copies of the Exercise Report for the full-participation joint exercise of the offsite REP plans for the River Bend Nuclear Generating Station. The exercise report dated April 5,1985, was prepared by the Region VI staff of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
No Category A deficiencies were identified during the exercise. However, a number of Category B deficiencies were identified.
A schedule of corrective actions has been provided by the State of Louisiana for the Category B deficiencies and is contained in the exercise report. These deficiencies did not detract from the overall capability demonstrated by the State of Louisiana and the Parishes of West Feliciana, East Feliciana, Point Coupee, Baton Rouge, and East Baton Rouge to protact the health and safety of the public in the event of an accident at River Bend Nuclear Generating Station.
In the status report on Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness Plans for the River Bend Nuclear Generating Station transmitted to you on February 12, 1985, we indicated that there were several operating procedures that were in the process of being revised while the finding was being prepared. The revised operating procedures were successfully implemented in draft form during the January 16, 1985, exercise and have now been submitted to FEMA Region VI in final form for review.
FEMA Region VI is currently finalizing its review of the revised operating procedures; therefore, a finding on the resolution of the remaining outstanding plan inadequacies will be provided to you by May 30, 1985.
