HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION EACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPF-57 DOCKET NO. 50-354 Regarding the survey of Hope Creek Generating Station spent fuel practices and spent fuel pool cooling system design and current l
licensing basis conducted from March 26 to 29, 1996, PSE&G l
confirms the following commitments, in accordance with the request made in the July 2, 1996 letter from D.H. Jaffe (NRC) to L.R. Eliason (PSE&G):
i 1)
The interaction among the Nuclear Fuel Group, the Spent Etel l
Pool Cooling System Manager and the Outage Manager will be reviewed and proceduralized.
Specifically, this review will consider improvements in the development of the fuel off-load / outage schedule that will assure an adequate compliment of l
spent fuel pool cooling equipment.
The review and procedure l
enhancements will be completed prior to the approval of the outage schedule, currently anticipated to be approved by July 31, 1997.

The RHR system spent fuel pool cooling assist mode procedures and testing requirements will be reviewed for performance and reliability issues.
A decision on contingency testing will be made as part of this review effort.
Recommendations from this review, if any, will be implemented 0
prior to completion of the next scheduled refueling outage f
(RF07).
