Copy of R. Karam's memo to B. Kahn on irradiating silicon ingots The chair called the meeting to order at 2.00 P.M.

1.

The Committee approved the minutes subject to rewriting item (6) into two separate items as (6) and (7).

The new Item (6) will remain same as the old item (6), with the removal of last sentence concerning cobalt source.

The new item (7) will read as:

It was learned that no decision had been made concerning a move to decommission Crenshaw's Mountain.

B. Revain spoke in support of rescin'iing Procedure 5000 series by relegating it to the System Manual.

The Cemnittee decided to appoint a subcommittee to oversee such a changeover. The subcommittee will consist of E.F.

Cobb, J.

recommendations to the full committee.

The Committee discussed a

proposed modification of Procedure 3101.

It was decided to not approve the modification, but the specific application of aluminum foil wrapping on silicon ingot was approved.

4.

The Cossaittee discussed a request to allow setting of lower limits on secondary water flow rate in the GTRR.

It was decided that more data were needed to perform detailed power calculations and that the request be denied.

However, a 90-day trial approval was given with the proviso that the flow rate be adjusted back to 960 gym at the end of the trial period.

5.

The Conaittee members were reminded of Item 8 of the agenda, concerning audit assignments.

The Committee approved modification of draft procedure 6100, with minor revisions.

The revised versicn is available at the NNRC.

7.

The Committee approved a minor modification to procedure 3600, involving a slight change in one line on pg.8 of 8.

The next meeting of the committee will be held on June 27th at 2:00 P.M.
