Karam regarding NNRC staffing Chairman B. Kahn called the meeting to order at 1:05 P.M.
1.
Minutes of the February 15th meeting of the Committee were approved.
2.
The next meeting of the Committee will be on April 26th from 1-3 P.M.

The committee discussed shipment of waste.
R.
Karam informed the committee about his meeting with Drs.
Poehlein and Paris regarding this issue.
At this meeting, Dr. Poehlein intimated that 9r. Martinson had also been apprised of the situation.
- t is expected that the FY '91 budget will satisfactorily address the issue.

Kahn asked R.
Karam to sununarize the situation concerning the position of the Manager, Office of Radiation Safety, which was the subject of the memo from B.K. to R.K.
Subsequently, the connaittee discussed the appropriateness of the Associate Director of the NNRC also serving as acting Manager, Office of Radiation Safety until a replacement was found. Several issues pro and con were thoroughly discussed.
The Committee resolved the issue by passing a motion urging the Director of the NNRC to expeditiously find a new Manager, Office of Radiation Safety.
5.
Procedure Approval The committee approved with minor revisions Draft Procedures 4000, 4001, 4002.
Revised versions of these procedures are available for inspection at the NNRC.
