EE5 Minutes of. the January 26th meeting of the Committee were

Agiproved. It was suggested by S. Abdel-Khalik that the minutes of the January 26th meeting also reflect

, discussions concerning procedures being walked through prior to their submission for approval by the Committee.

2. The next meeting of the Committee will be on March 22nd t

from 1-3 P.M.

3. B. Revain informed the Committee that almost all the principal investigators.had satisfactorily responded to ,

her about annual inventory of radiation sources. 1 4

4. R. A. Karam informed the Committee that an offer for contract with Westinghouse Savannah River was received by OCA.  !
5. L. Petherick asked the Committee to look into the i availability of resources to handle the removal of l radioactive material from campus. He expressed concern  !

4 over the safety of the site on campus where it is  !

presently being stored. His estimate of the cost of twice-a-year cleaning of the site was of the order of ,

$100,000/yr. The Committee unanimously passed a motion l

to recommend to the administration that "the Institute have an adequate budget for shipment of radioactive waste".
6. The Committee discussed the proposed SRS experiment and agreed that although it was worthwhile to conduct the

7. Procedure Approval The Committee approved with minor revisions Draft Procedures 0010, 2170, 9066, 2001, 4400, 7270 and 7271.

The revised versions are available for inspection at the NNRC.

8. Form A Approval The Committee approved drafts for Form A approvals from K. J. Kearfoot and P. Girard.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:59 P.M.
