" Personal" Logs l

l This is to reiterate what I havs discussed with ycu with tegard to our l policy of keeping " personal" logs. i

. Generally, if you want to keep a personal diary the decision is up to l you. This diary is not to be mixed with official records however. Official records required by procedures are NNRC records which are and will be opened to inspectors, membert of the Nuclear Safeguards Committee, Georgia Tech administrators, and the public.

If anyone observes that any of the applicable rules and regulations and/ l or our approved procedures are being violated either deliberately or otherwise, \

it is the responsibility of that person who witnesses the violation to bring-it to my attention either in a brief memo or verbally. Writing a violation l in a " personal" log without any attempt to communicate such a violation to me is contrary to our policy.

I will investigate all alleged violations and will discuss openly rele-vant findings. This effort should not be interpreted as encouraging spying.

On the contrary, it is required by NRC so that we learn and benefit from our mistakes.

I hope and trust that all of us will behave in a professional manner.
