CALLAWAY PLANT DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 REVISION TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION TABLE 4.3-1,
" REACTOR TRIP SYSTEM INSTRUMENTATION SURVEILLANCE REOUIREMENTS" Union Electric Company.lerewith transmits an application for amendment to Facility Operating License Number NPF-30 for the Callaway Plant.
This amendment application requests a revision to Technical Specification-Table 4.3-1, Note 5, to reflect that integral bias curves,.
rather than detector plateau curves, are ased to calibrate t'N source range instrumentation.
Intermediate Range and Power Range channels will continue to-be calibrated using detector plateau curves.
The low-noise preamplifiers provided for the Callaway Plant Nuclear Instrumentation System do not accommodate the traditional plateau curve.
Using the integral bias curve is a more inclusive calibration than the
. plateau curve and provides the same information, i.e.,
the high voltage operating point.
The CO.laway Plant On-Site Review Committee and.the Nuclear Safety Review Board have reviewed.and approved this amendment application.
Attachments 1 through 4 provide the Technical Specification changes, Safety Evaluation, Significant Hazards Evaluation, and Environmental Consideration, respectively.
It has been determined that this amendment application does not involve any unreviewed safety question as defined in 10 CFR 50.59, nor a s ;T I
