Dear Mr. Denton:
Pursuant to our letter GN-508, dated January 18,11985, we are currently reviewing the' DR/QR. report and evaluating the Owners Group (0G) recom-mendations.
The scope - of review includes evaluation of control panel modifications, piping modifications, and the Maintenance / Surveillance Program.
In addition to-the review, a walkdown. will be performed to determine which modifications are applicable to the Vogtle diesel genera-tors.
The DR/QR-report supports the conclusion that the TDI diesel generators at Vogtle. are acceptable for their intended safety ' related function.
Furthermore, the Maintenance / Surveillance Program provides additional assurance. that the diesel generators will continue to perform their intended function for the life of the plant.
As operating experience becomes available, the Maintenance / Surveillance Program may be modified

- to -reflect more appropriate ' maintenance and refurbishment or replacement schedules..
The ~ recommendations of the _ DR/QR report were made to improve the overall reliabiity of the diesel generators and maintain their Georgia Power-Company (GPC) qualification for. the - life of the : plant.
