Dear Mr. Miller,
The purpose of this letter is to provide additional information that was requested during a teleconference that took place Comed and the NRC

Staff, at 1610 hours0.0186 days <br />0.447 hours <br />0.00266 weeks <br />6.12605e-4 months <br /> on June 29,1996. As a result of the teleconference, Comed received a Regional Notification of Enforcement Discretion from Technical Specification Limiting Condition for Operation (LCO) 3.0.3. The results of this teleconference were provided in the Reference letter. During the teleconference, Comed committed to provide additional information on two items; the list of components that will be inspected or tested to ensure that foreign material is not present, and the acceptance criteria for Service Water Tunnel cleanliness. Attachment A provides the acceptance criteria for Sentice Water cleanliness. Attachment B provides the list of components that will be inspected or tested to ensure that foreign material is not present.

The following shall be the acceptance criteria for Service Water Tunnel cleanliness:
1 1.
No visible free (loose) sealant material in the Service Water Tunnel as determined by diver visual inspection.
2.
No sealant particles greater than 3/8 inch diameter, and less than 1 ounce dry weight of sealant particles less than 3/8 inch diameter in the Service Water Tunnel, collected after flowing approximately 2000 gallons through a 1/16 inch mesh strainer. Three successive samples shall be taken, with each sample meeting this criteria. These samples shall be taken from different areas of the Service Water Tunnel.
The recommended sample point shall be from the discharge of the diver l
scavenging pump hose, while the pump is being used with a suction taken from Service Water Tunnel.
