The purpose of this letter is to notify the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of the following changes in Southern Nuclear Operating Company management personnel.

Effective November 1,1992, Joseph M. Farley, Director and Chairman of the Board of Southern Nuclear and Executive Vice President and Corporate Counsel of The Soutiiern Company, will retire after 40 years of loyal and dedicated service to The Southern Company and its subsidiaries.

In addition to his present positions, Mr. Farley has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Alabama Power Company and wa' the first President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Nuclear.

On October 13, 1992, Mr. F. D. Xuester, an Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer of Southern Nuclear-0peracing Company, was named to a position within Southern Company Services, a separate subsidiary of The Southern Company.

It is anticipated that an individual will be selected in the normal course to fill Mr. Kuester's position, i
