In Reference (a), you informed us that the NRC staff review of environmental qualification requirements for safety injection accumulator tank level and pressure was complete. De review concluded that no operator action is t ased on this post-accident instrumentation and that it does not perform a safety function. Therefore, the qualification requirements for this instrumentation can be reduced to Category 3.

You requested that we notify you of our action plan and schedule to uplement the sta t's decision.

r As we described in Reference (b), the safety injection tank level and pressure instrumentation is installed and qualified as Category 3. Therefore, no system modifications or changes to design documentation, including the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report, are required to implement the NRC staff's decision.
