JOSEPH M.'FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

.OF OPERATIONS FEBRUARY, 1985

,The Unit was shut'down for the entire month'of February for the

-refueling / maintenance outage which began on 1-5-85 and was extended for containment tendon. inspection.

The following major safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of February:

1.

As a result.of finding two degraded field anchors (reported in January, 1985) inspections, tests and analyses were continued.

Twenty-six containment tendon field anchors were replaced.

2.

The five year inspection was performed on the-2A and 2B Reactor Coolant Pump-motors. Also, the 2B Reactor Coolant Pump seals-were inspected.

3.

A non-destructive examination was satisfactorily performed on critical-load bearing welds on the reactor head lifting rig.

4.

Terminals on. Westinghouse 7.5 KVA inverters were inspected as recommended in Westinghouse. Technical Bulletin NSD-TB-84-08, 5.

Miscellaneous corrective and preventive maintenance was per-formed on diesel generators.
