Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Units Nos.1 & 2; Dockets Nos. 50-317 and 50-318 NRC Generic Letter 84-24 (dated December 27,1984)

Gentlemen:

Please be informed that due to the date of actual transmittal of the subject generic letter (not received by BG&E until January 10,1985) we will submit our response to you by February 11, 1985. This matter has been discussed with our NRC Project Manager.

t As the rule' deadline approaches, we are monitoring the progress of remaining qualification activities to assure prompt identification of the need for schedule extensions. Our objective is to submit any required extension requests for your consideration by mid-February at the latest. For your information, it is likely that extensions will be necessary for several additional items, some of which stem from various NRC staff recommendations made during the recent 50.49 compliance audit of Unit 1. Any certifications made in our upcoming response to Generic Letter 84-24 will take the status of these qualification activities into account.

Very truly yours,
