We have received the U.S. Nrclear Regulatory Commission Reports numbered 50-027/92-01,50-027N2-02 and 50-027d2-03 resulting from inspections of the Washington State University msearch reactor which were conducted by P. M. Qualls, Reactor Inspector, and L. Norderhaug, Senior Material Control Analyst, on June 8-10,1992, We are pleased that the activities at the reactor facility were, with few exceptions, found to be in accordance with NRC License Number R-76. You have our assurance that the non-cited
-license violations identified by the inspectors are being addressed.
Safety in the operation of our research reactor is our highest priority, therefore, we benefit from NRC inspections and we welcome the advice and guidance of the NRC. The recent inspection, while thorough, was conducted in a courteous and cooperative manner.
l Also, the ability of the inspectors to examine records and observe operations without serious disruption of the work schedule is appreciated.
