The Individualized Learning Center We appreciate your comments about the courses, materials, and services at the ILC. We use them to decide what new or additional prcgrams are required and we
. particularly use diem to munitor your reactions to self-study training. Here are some of the many comments we have received from those who use the programs in the ILC:
I gained usejid ideas..
Very easyformat to leamfrom...
Good refresher on basics...
Ccnn enient, easy, quick...
Good ease of use.
We've also learned that most ILC " students" tend to progress th1ough the self-study programs from beginning to end rather than select a different sequence. When we ask if you usually enjoy learning at your own pace and control, the answer is an overwhelming YES.
Self-study methodology is a great option, not just because you can, if you choose, control your own pace and sequence, but because the materials are self-explanatory and tend to offer a higher level of effective visual instruction than classroom training. Self-study programs are not like reading a book; they are training programs, designed to explain new information and highlight key points. With computer-based training, they also provide an excellent practice forum. If you have not used self-study training before, the only thing you need to invest in is to take the first step of trying something new.
We use the ILC to bring in training to meet emerging needs that don't yet warrant classroom training, and for programs that provide supplements and alternatives to I
classroom instruction. What are some of the needs you see for yourself or others in NRC? Some of you who are taking training through the NRC 368 request process, can consider requesting high quality self-study programs available as
(
videos or multimedia programs. Give us a call or send us a note. We really do want to hear from you.

- resource to select and tailor your learning experiences. It is designed to help you meet the following types of need:
- Personal Developmetit
- Supplement Classroom Training: Before or After Classroom Training

Self-paced learning depends on good concentration. Short sessions will result in greater retention of information.
Time estimates are included in the course descriptions to help you plan your schedule.
Course numbers are designed so that the first letter corresponds to the type of media:
