Northem States Power Company 414 Nicollet Mall Minneapolis, Minnesota 55401 1927 Telephone (612) '330-5500 June 18,1996 10CFR Part 50 Section 50.46(a)(3)

US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 Reoort of Corrections to ECCS Evaluation Models Historically, General Electric (GE) has reported changes and errors to the ECCS evaluation models that are applicable to Monticello. It appeared that these GE letters satisfied NSP's reporting requirements, but it recently came to our attention that the licensee is specifically required to report the changes. The purpose of this letter is tc report changes to the ECCS models that have occurred since the last analysis of record for GE10 and i GE11 fuel types, which are currently in the Monticello Cycle 18 core.

A summary of the model changes and the associated peak clad temperatures (PCTs)is provided in the Attachment. These changes will be incorporated as the analysis of record in the SAFER /GESTR-LOCA anclysis performed in support of the Monticello Power Rerate program. It is planned that the Monticello Rerate license amendment request will be submitted in the near future.

Please cacct Mel Opstad at (612) 295-1653 if you require further information.
