Dear M1. Rasbury:

Recently I received c. copy of yout Juta 25, 1984, tctter to Mts. Eta.ine C. Rob.inson of.the Long Isatnd Ligitting Companit.

In that lettet you out-lined an agreement behecen Btc Nassau County Chapter of the American Red Cross and Litco for the use of certain public school buildings in Nassau County as evacuation centets in case of an emetgency at.the Shoreham Nuclear Potecr Station.

Furthermore, in that tetter you indicate to Litco B1at there is in existence an agreement betecen ble Nassau County Chaptet of the American Red Cross and B1e schools of the Szaford Union Free Schoet Diotti'ct to use our fac& tics for shelter during an emetgency. This comment atts made based on a shelter information Elsting in 1982-83 which you attached to your lettet to Mts. Robinson.

At the time of.that 1982-83 ag1 cement, the Seaford Public Schools tecre not informed.that yeu would wish.to use our facilities in case of a nuctcar accident.

Plcase be advised that our Board of Education takes exception to yowt tcttet to Mts. Robinson in the strongest vossible.tches.

Unless uou ate first wiiling to apply.to our Board of Education in writing for the use of our facilities daring a nuclear evacuation and have their acceptance re-sponse in writing on file in yout offi'ec, the district will not pewit the ase of our facitifics as patt af the Sharcham evacuation plan.

k'c are completely amazed that you would attempt to take the kind of unilatetal action that has been exhibited b" B1e contents of your tetter to Litco.

The letter certainly does nothi'ng a maintnin coopetative retations betecen the American Red Cross and the Scafo*.a n blic Schools.

I trust tha.t you will respond in writing with a request,o1 the use of out buildings if you fcel this is essential to the impleme.tation of the Shoreham cuocuation plan.
