Dear Mr. Denton:
In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.71(e), Commonwealth m
Edison hereby submits Revision 1 to the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) for our LaSalle County Station. Units 1 and 2 have a common UFSAR and, therefore, this revision contains Unit 1 and Unit 2 information.
The UFSAR has been prepared in accordance with guidance provided by the May 9, 1980, Federal Register Notice and Reference (a). Consistent with that guidance, this UFSAR revision has been retained in the original FSAR's g
format with the original level of detail. No attempt has been made to revise h
the format (except as described below) or content to conform with the recommendations contained in Regulatory Guide 1.70.
TE Commonwealth Edison has made every effort to identify all relevant F
information for this revision including all modifications to the facility as described in the UFSAR that have been made since the last submittal (Reference (b)).
In our judgement, the UFSAR accurately reflects the 1
as-built condition of the plant as of October 17, 1984. All changes c
requiring W C approval have been reviewed by the EC and all others have
'{E 50.59 reviews on site to document the station's determination that prior approval was not required.
In accordance with Reference (c), the UFSAR will h.D be used to perform future 10 CFR 50.59 reviews.

. reorganized Chapter 7, Instrumentation and Controls. The reorganization was done to provide consistency in format and organization of subject material.
This~ reorganization -is included in this submittal. tal Chapter 7 pages are marked "Rev.1-April, 1985". However, any Chapter 7 changes resulting only-from the. reorganization are not marked with change bars. 'Other changes, such as those resulting from modifications, are marked with change bars.
. In accordance with the regulations,' future revisions to the. UFSAR will continue to be provided on an annual basis.
To the best of my knowledge and belief, the statements contained in f
the UFSAR are true and correct..In some respects these statements are not.
based on my personal knowledge but upon information furnished by other Commonwealth Edison employees. Such information has been' reviewed in 3accordance with Company practice and I believe it to be reliable.-
~ In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.71(e), twelve-(12) copies of. the UFSAR revisions are provided. Also attached is an "Index of Changes" which explains which pages of the UFSAR must be removed and which revised pages must be inserted.
One (1) signed original and twelve (12) copies of this letter are 4
provided for your use.
