ATTACHMENT Response to Additonal Questions Concerning 125 Volt DC System 1.

Ventilation System Design Temperature

' Original HVAC specification requires the turbine building temperature, where the 125V batteries are located, be maintained between 650F and 1050F.

However, there is a modification underway to maintain a minimum temperature in the batter / rooms of 700F.

This particular modification will be completed in March, 1985.

2.

Battery Cell Temperature Limits There is no temperature at which the batteries are declared inoperative.

3.

Limitations on Battery Testing QTS-120-8 and 9, Quad Cities Units 1 and 2, Battery Test specifically requires in the Discharge procedures respectively,d Unit 2 be in Shutdown and/or prerequisities that both Unit 1 an Refuel ~ Mode.
