1. Description <:f the Event:

Effective with the issuance of Amendment Number 100 to the operating license effective October 15, 1984, Process Vent High Range (RM-GW-130-2) and Ventilation Vent High Range (RM-VG-131-2) Effluent Monitors were required to be operable. This Special Report is being submitted to inform you that these detectors have been intermittently out of service. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of inoperability with a long term goal of improved equipment reliability. Since alternate meth-ods of monitoring gaseous effluents were available during this event, the health and safety of the public were not affected.

3. Cause:

The cause is under investigation at this time.

4. Immediate Corrective Action:

Alternate methods of monitoring gaseous effluents were confirmed.
