Carolina Power & Light Company hereby submits additional information

'concerning the Detailed Control Room Design Review (DCRDR). This information is submitted in response to Safety Evaluation Report Open Item No. 14.

,. BACKGROUND

~

Supplement No. I to NUREG-1038, " Safety' Evaluation Report Related to the -

. Operation of Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP), Unit No. 1," (June

1984) requested that additional information be submitted to the NRC staff

~

-concerning the SHNPP Detailed Control Room Design Review DCRDR at least six months.before fuel. load. Additionally, an NRC letter dated on August 10, 1984-

. requested additional'information relative to the DCRDR be submitted by

-January.1, 1985.

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION

~ Since receiving- these documents, the SHNPP construction schedule has been.

revised and fuel load is now scheduled for March 1986. We are now' planning to provide the additional information requested by-March 30, 1985,;in a'ccordauce-with the requirement to, submit information at least six months prior to fuel

^ - load. ' However, the following is a. brief discussion of actions which are

^ currently' underway:

,, report.' CP&L wil4. work directly with the consultant in the preparation of

'the summary report.
