In references (a) and (b) we requested license amendments for Units 1 and 2 which would permit use of the existing containment hydrogen purge exhaust line as a containment venting system during normal operations. Reference (c) addressed the concerns that arose while reviewing the LOCA-while-venting analysis originally submitted in support of the proposed license amendments and provided a reanalysis using a higher source term and a shorter, more realistic isolation valve closure time.
The response time credited for isolation valves MOV-6900 and -6901 in the reference (c) reanalysis _is less than the current Technical Specification value of 20 seconds. We, therefore, noted our intention to reduce the Technical Specification isolation time limit to 15 seconds to be consistent with our analysis. We request this proposed change be reviewed and approved concurrently with references (a) and (b). Please refer to the attached pages noting the change.
