SUBJECT:

Beaver Valley Power Station - Unit No. 2 Docket No. 50-412 Response to Outstanding Issue in Draf t SER 8.3.3.3.6 Electrical Separation - Test Plan Submittal Gentlemen:

During our December 14, 1984 mee t ing with staff personnel in agreed to formally submit the enclosed Test Plan (enclosure #1)

Bethesda, we and related information (enclosure #2).

Enclosure #1 is a copy of the Test Plan, ESS0W 2BVS-843, approved October 5,1984 and marked December 27, 1984.

The ESS0W has been marked to reflect approved ch ange s that have been made since its initial approval on October 5,1984.

Enclosure #2 consists of an index and six (6) sketches that correlate test configurations, from 2BVS-843 to separation details that will be demonstrated as acceptable based upon our test program results.

During our September 26, 1984 meeting in Bethesda with NRR Staf f and Region I personnel, preliminary copies of both enclosures 1 and 2 were discussed in detail and copies were lef t for your review.

We also discussed I at the September 26 meeting, the detailed methods we proposed to utilize to justify the acceptability of other sept. ration details without testing.

Our submittal 2NRC-4-170, dated October 16, 1984, did not include the information in Enclosures 1 and 2 since we agreed at our September 26 only to submit those configurations that were acceptable without testing.

Therefore, our October 16 submittal contained only the configurations and justifications for separation details that are acceptable without tests or have been found acceptable based on similar justification on other dockets.
