Dear Mr. Iannuzzi:
Your letter of 6-20-84 requested use of EMD reoort entitled " Starting Reliability of EMD Model 999 Diesel Electric Generator Sets" dated 11-1-71, in connection with operation of MP45 units at Long Island Lighting Company.
In reply to your request, this letter will confirm having advised that EMD has no objection to your referencing this report.
However, writer must point out that not only were the starting systems air powered but in addition the 999 units were deliberately equipped with dual starting systems and fuel systems.
